Do I need an Apple Watch?
For swing feedback, yes — the watch is what senses the swing. Everything else, including GPS distances, scoring, your handicap and the Rules Puzzle, works with just your iPhone.

Do I need to do anything special to record a swing?
No. Start a game or a practice session, then play. Golf Mentor finds the swings in the motion data on its own — you do not have to press anything between shots.
